At the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius, its participants need to ensure clear steps towards Ukraine’s future membership in the Alliance.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, Censor.NET informs with reference to "Interfax-Ukraine".

"The Netherlands supports Ukraine's ambitions on the way to NATO. At the NATO summit in Vilnius, we must ensure clear steps in this direction. During these 4-6 weeks, we must conduct such negotiations," Rutte said at a press conference with the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister - Minister of Belgium in The Hague.

Regarding Ukraine's accession to the European Union, as the Prime Minister noted, he was impressed by Ukraine's actions regarding its implementation of reforms and the implementation of the European Commission's recommendations regarding future membership.

"I was very impressed by the words and actions of the president (of Ukraine. - Ed.) and his team: how they fight against aggression, and also take very clear steps on the way to joining the EU. The commission will evaluate their progress and make a report in the fall. I was impressed by what is going on inside the country.And I am sure that it will be done," Rutte said.
