France to supply Ukraine with ammunition, but not fighter jets - Macron
France wants Ukraine to launch a counteroffensive whenever it is convenient and force Russia to negotiate. But Paris will not provide fighter jets.
This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to Le Figaro.
"France's strategy is simple. It is to help Ukraine resist, to organize a counter-offensive at the moment it chooses, to be able to bring everyone back to the negotiating table and to build a lasting peace on the terms it chooses," he said.
Macron added that France has already supplied "a lot of weapons" to Ukraine, including Caesar air defense systems, ammunition and armored vehicles. He added that more ammunition will be sent to Ukraine.
However, he ruled out the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine.
"No, I was not talking about fighter jets, I was talking about missiles and training (of the military - Ed.). At the moment, we are starting to prepare. This is a deal that several European countries have signed," he said.
Earlier today, Macron said that France had "opened the door" for training Ukrainian pilots.
