Smetanin appointed new general director of Ukroboronprom

The Cabinet of Ministers appoints Herman Smetanin as the new CEO of Ukroboronprom

Minister of Strategic Industry Oleksandr Kamyshin announced this on Telegram, Censor.NET reports.

"The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed German Smetanin as the new CEO of UkrOboronProm. He is a young progressive leader. He has worked his way up in the defense industry from an engineer to a plant manager.

Mr. Smetanin has three main tasks:

1. Increase the production of ammunition and military equipment
2. To build an effective anti-corruption infrastructure in the company
3. Transform UkrOboronProm," the statement said.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree dismissing Yurii Gusev, CEO of Ukroboronprom.
