The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, celebrates his birthday today, 8 July. He is 50 years old.

It should be noted that Zaluzhny was born on 8 July 1973 in Novohrad-Volynsky (now Zvyagel - Ed.) in the Zhytomyr region.
Zaluzhny studied at the Odesa Institute of the Land Forces and the National Defence Academy of Ukraine.
On 27 July 2021, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Valeriy Zaluzhny as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He replaced Ruslan Khomchak in this position. The next day, he was appointed to the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.
On 23 May 2022, he was named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People.

We will win," wrote Land Forces Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi and posted a joint photo with Zaluzhnyi.
"Sincere congratulations to my comrade-in-arms on his birthday! Health, strength and success in our fight against the Russian enemy! We are moving towards victory! It will definitely come," said the commander of the Tauride direction Oleksandr Tarnavsky.
