Reznikov and Austin discussed defense cooperation
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov met with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin to discuss topical issues of defense cooperation.
This was stated by Reznikov in Twitter, reports Censor.NЕТ.
"We exchanged impressions of the NATO Summit in Vilnius; discussed ways to accelerate Ukraine's movement towards interoperability with NATO. We discussed plans for tomorrow's meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense in the Ramstein format," he said.
Reznikov added that the parties also discussed the situation on the battlefield and the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in weapons and equipment.
"I once again thanked Secretary Austin and the American people for the supply of cluster munitions. We will use them wisely, carefully and in strict accordance with the conditions specified earlier," he summarized.
As a reminder, Reznikov proposed to allow the deployment of foreign military bases on the territory of Ukraine.
