The situation in the Bakhmut direction is very tense, but the Defense Forces are gradually moving forward and liberating our lands.
This was announced by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, Censor.NET informs.
According to him, the enemy is tenaciously clinging to every centimeter, conducting intense artillery and mortar fire.
"In these conditions, it is very important to make management decisions promptly in accordance with the prevailing situation, and to take measures to maneuver forces and means, transfer parts and units to directions where success is expected, or withdraw them from the enemy's fire," he noted.
The main role in this process belongs to the headquarters of the group, whose officers conduct an analysis of the situation in many directions, prepare proposals and combat orders for the troops.
"The counter-battery fight has now come to the fore in our actions. To support their troops in the area of Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Andriivka, the enemy has concentrated a significant amount of artillery, the destruction of which is one of the main tasks for our troops," Syrsky said.
He also informs that the enemy is constantly attacking in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, using its most professional units.
"Every day we repulse numerous assaults in these directions. None of our positions have been lost," sums up Syrsky.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense noted that the enemy is unsuccessfully trying to penetrate our defenses in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions. It was also reported that the Defense Forces repulsed several assaults without losing ground.
Serhii Cherevaty, the spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said in a comment to CNN that the information spread by Russia about the alleged loss of three settlements near Kupiansk by the Defense Forces is not true.
