Germany will not provide Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, the priority is currently other assistance.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the Tagesschau publication, which cites the words of the official representative of the German government and Bild.
"The state of affairs regarding the Taurus cruise missile has not changed," the government representative said.
According to her, now Germany has other priorities for military aid to Ukraine. In particular, Berlin focuses on heavy artillery, armored vehicles and air defense systems.
"No decision is being prepared at the moment," an unnamed senior government official told Bild.
A spokesman for the German Ministry of Defense confirmed that "there is no change in the current status regarding the transfer of the Taurus to Ukraine. No political decision has been made in this regard."
Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed that the delivery of the Taurus is currently not on the agenda.
"We are not the only ones who do not supply (such missiles). Our American allies also do not supply these cruise missiles," the politician said. He doesn't see "an urgent need to make a decision at this point" on the Taurus delivery issue.
