Russians have resumed offensive actions in Makiivka area, they are trying to capture Kupiansk, - Syrsky
In recent days, the situation has significantly worsened on the Kupiansk and Lyman directions.
This was reported on the Facebook page of the Ground Forces of the AFU by Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, Censor.NET informs.
"Heavy battles are ongoing in the Kupiansk direction. The enemy's main goal is the defeat of the grouping of our troops, the encirclement of Kupiansk, and the exit to the border of the Oskil River. Every day, the enemy carries out dozens of attacks by the forces of assault groups with the support of armored vehicles, conducts heavy mortar and artillery fire on our positions," the message reads.
Syrsky noted that the enemy is suffering significant losses and has not achieved significant success.
The commander met with commanders of units and subdivisions, listened to reports on the current situation. Decisions on further actions were taken on the spot and several problematic issues were resolved.
