Zelenskyy dismissed commander of SOF Khorenko at request of Umerov, - PO
The Office of the President claims that the head of state Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed the commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Viktor Khorenko at the request of the Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov.
This was stated by the deputy head of the President's Office, Roman Mashovets, in a comment to "Ukrainian Pravda", Censor.NET informs.
"According to the law of Ukraine on national security, the commanders of the types and separate branches of the armed forces (forces) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are appointed and dismissed by the President of Ukraine at the request of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Such a submission was received by the President's Office in accordance with current legislation," he said.
The relevant wording is contained in Clause 5 of Article 16 of the Law "On National Security of Ukraine".
Earlier, Censor.NET reported that Zelenskyy fired the SOF's commander without consulting Zaluzhnyi.
Also remind, that Khorenko was appointed to the post of commander of the Special Operations Forces on July 25, 2022.
