Ukrainian military will not surrender dominating heights near Mariupol, - Poroshenko
Ukrainian troops will not be withdrawn from dominating heights near Mariupol.
As reported by Censor.NET citing OstroV, this was announced by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in the Donetsk region on Aug. 2. He noted the removal of heavy weapons and artillery would concern only the agreed areas.
"These are the areas near Mariupol. We are talking about withdrawal of troops from Shyrokyne, but we are not taking troops from dominating heights near Berdianske. We will not succumb to any provocations. Defense of Mariupol is now much stronger with additional military having been deployed. This also concerns other areas - near Avdiivka, Bakhmutka road, Shchastia," the president said. Also, according to Poroshenko, each international agreement is implemented in coordination with the General Staff.
