Our strategy is to prevent Russia from winning, but French will not die for Ukraine - Foreign Minister Sejourne

France said it was taking steps to avoid war.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Stefan Sejourne, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"Everything we do is aimed at avoiding war and, obviously, not to cause anxiety to the French, so our strategy at this time of uncertainty is aimed precisely at preventing Russia from winning," he explained.
"The French will not die for Ukraine or see hostilities, as our borders are clearly established - to prevent Russia from winning. And this is what the president of the republic said," the minister added.
According to Sejourne, the collapse of Ukraine will cost the world much more.
At the same time, he called Macron's latest statements as allowing France to be "on the right side of history."
"We have information (according to which) Russia will not stop there," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, commenting on the situation with Moldova and Transnistria, which appealed to Moscow for protection.
Sejourne drew a parallel with the Sudeten episode. "We cannot find ourselves in the same period as in September 1938, when Czechoslovakia was given up for a fleeting peace," concluded the head of French diplomacy.
Macron's proposal for NATO troops in Ukraine
On 26 February, French President Emmanuel Macron said at a working meeting of about 20 European leaders that NATO could send troops to help Ukraine. The main problem, he said, is that there is no consensus on this issue.
The United States, Germany, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium, Spain, and Italy have announced their intention not to send troops to Ukraine.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that "there are no plans to deploy NATO combat troops in Ukraine".
Russian President Putin's spokesman Peskov said that if NATO troops are on the territory of Ukraine, a war between Russia and NATO is inevitable.
