Delays in US aid put Ukraine at increased risk - Pentagon spokesman Ryder
The risks for Ukraine are "growing every day" due to the delay in US aid.
Pentagon spokesman Major General Patrick Ryder said this in an interview with Radio Liberty, Censor.NET reports.
"Of course, delays in getting Ukraine what it needs continue to put Ukraine at increased risk.
We fully recognise the direness of the situation, the importance and urgency of the need for ammunition and other capabilities. And so, again, we are going to continue to work very closely with our Congress.
The risks are growing every day," he said.
Ryder said that Ukrainians have shown themselves to be "incredibly brave, courageous and innovative fighters" in the fight against the Russian invasion.
He stressed that, despite the Russian invaders' incremental gains, Ukrainian defenders "continue to hold the line on much of the front line".
"We continue to see Ukraine holding its ground. So we will be focused on supporting Ukraine and making sure that Russia cannot seize more territory. And then, hopefully, in the future, we will see Ukraine regain its territory," Ryder said.
