As a result of a massive hostile attack on 22 March, all power units at Burshtyn Thermal Power Plant (Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast) and Ladyzhyn Thermal Power Plant (Vinnytsia Oblast) were destroyed.

According to Censor.NET, this was stated by DTEK's executive director Dmytro Sakharuk in an interview with Economic Pravda.

"On 22 March, there was the biggest shelling since the beginning of the war. There was a lot of destruction in the energy sector, first of all, the generation sector suffered. We lost 50% of our installed capacity. Two of our power plants were damaged: 'Burshtynska' and 'Ladyzhinska'," he said.

Sakharuk stressed that all power units at the plants were affected. They are in varying degrees of destruction: from complete to more than 50%.

Kurakhivska TPP (Donetsk Oblast) was also heavily damaged by the occupiers' shelling and is currently out of operation.

As a reminder, on the morning of 22 March, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Ukraine, putting several regions under fire. According to Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, the Russians wanted to arrange a total blackout in Ukraine.
