White House urges Johnson to vote on bill to help Ukraine

The White House insists that the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, should bring to a vote the draft law with the support of Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, approved by the Senate. This should be done instead of making other proposals.

White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre stated this at a briefing, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.

"House Republicans must pass a bipartisan deal on national security funding that has already been passed by a 70-29 majority in the Senate," an administration spokeswoman said when asked if the White House opposed the initiative recently announced by Speaker Johnson.

She emphasized that it is necessary to ensure that Ukraine has everything necessary for protection against Russian aggression.

"And there is a way to provide Ukraine with what it needs. All the speaker has to do is to submit a bill with additional funding for national security needs," Jean-Pierre said.
