SSU prevented attempt on head of Kherson region, Prokudin - Maliuk
The SBU prevents an attempt on the life of Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
This was announced by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk during a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, Censor.NET reports citing ZN.ua.
"A local resident of Kherson was detained on 10 April. He was organizing an attempt on Prokudin's life together with the enemy special services," Maliuk said.
According to him, a new model of an enemy FPV drone was launched from a depth of 12 km. The traitor was conducting visual surveillance on the spot and adjusting fire at Prokudin's car.
"We managed to document all this. He was detained at the stage of the completed attempt. The enemy drone was detonated by our electronic warfare units in a timely manner," the head of the SSU noted.
Malyuk also said that the SSU is constantly countering enemy infiltration of critical infrastructure facilities and locations of defense industry enterprises.
"One of the most extreme cases was the detention of an FSS agent in Dnipro who was filming thermal power plants on his phone and preparing retaliatory strikes. Together with colleagues from the internal security of the National Police, we detained a former police officer in Zaporizhzhia who worked very closely with defense industry facilities. Several employees of Ukrzaliznytsia were detained for providing information to the enemy on the logistical movement of weapons and munitions," the official said.
In total, he said, 47 agent networks were detected and documented last year. Since the beginning of the year, 11 criminals have been detected. All of them have been detained.
