Erdogan threatens Israel with invasion - media

Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened Israel with an invasion by Turkey.
He said this at a party meeting in the province of Rize on Sunday, 28 July, as quoted by the Turkish edition Haberler, Censor.NET reports.
"We have to be very strong so that Israel cannot do these things to Palestine. Just as we entered Karabakh and Libya, we will do the same to them. Nothing will stop us from doing so. We just have to be strong enough to take these steps," the Turkish leader said.
During his speech, Erdogan also highlighted Turkey's development in the defence industry.
It should be noted that Turkish President Erdogan has repeatedly criticised Israel's actions and accused the IDF of "atrocities in the Gaza Strip". Erdogan has also stated that Ankara supports the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, which launched an attack on Israel on 7 October 2023.
On Saturday, 27 July, Israel announced that the Lebanese group Hezbollah (backed by Iran) had shelled a football field in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The attack resulted in deaths and injuries.
