Supporters of the Russian Orthodox Church stormed St. Michael's Cathedral in Cherkasy and caused a mess there. The police are identifying all the participants in the incident.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the Cherkasy region police.

"The police of Cherkasy region are documenting the circumstances of the conflict near St. Michael's Cathedral. The police received information about a crowd of people on the territory of the temple," the statement reads.

It is noted that law enforcement officers arrived at the scene to ensure public order, document the offense and identify all the participants in the incident.

Investigative teams are working at the scene.

Cherkasy media write that Metropolitan Feodosii, who has been repeatedly notified of suspicion for discrediting priests of other faiths and spreading fakes, was with the parishioners.

It should be noted that the day before, St. Michael's Cathedral changed its jurisdiction, moving to the OCU.

St. Michael's Cathedral is the largest Orthodox church in Ukraine.
