"If we were that corrupt, how could we stand up to Russia?" - Yermak

Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak said that corruption is "a constant in the countries that were part of the former Soviet Union."
He said this in an interview with the Italian edition of Corriere della Serra, Censor.NET reports.
The journalist asked the head of the OP what he could say about the constant accusations of corruption and waste.
"We live in a democracy. There is an information war going on, Moscow is working to tarnish the image of our government. Keep in mind that the frontline is holding on despite corruption," Yermak said.
At the same time, he added that corruption is "a constant in the countries that were part of the former Soviet Union."
And he asked a rhetorical question: "But if we were really that corrupt, how could we resist (Russia - Ed.)?"
