US presidential election has started: First settlement announces results
The US presidential election has begun. The first results from the first polling station, the small village of Dixville Notch in New Hampshire, are in.

The settlement is located along the US-Canadian border on the northern outskirts of New Hampshire. According to a tradition that dates back to 1960, it opened and closed its polling station immediately after midnight.
There were four Republicans and two undeclared voters. Kamala Harris and Donald Trump received three votes each.
All eligible voters in Dixville Notch gather at the now defunct "Balsams" Hotel to cast their secret ballots. After each vote, the votes are counted and the results are immediately announced. This happens several hours earlier than anywhere else in the US.
In the last two presidential elections, voters in Dixville Notch supported the Democratic candidate. Thus, in 2020, they unanimously cast 5 votes for President Joe Biden, and in 2016, Hillary Clinton received 4 out of 7 votes. Two were for Trump and one for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson.
It is known that in January, 4 registered Republican voters and two independents took part in the Republican Party primaries. They cast 6 votes for former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.
