A taxi driver from Sloviansk organised a scheme to smuggle men of military age to EU countries. The cost of the services was $15,500.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The citizen was served a notice of suspicion of illegal trafficking of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

How did the intruder act?

In September 2024, a taxi driver from Sloviansk organised a scheme to smuggle men of military age to EU countries. He offered his acquaintance to take him to Vinnytsia and from there to the Romanian border. After paying USD 5,000, the "evader" had to swim across the river.

After some time, the dealer adjusted the scheme, and the cost of the delivery changed to USD 15,500.

On 30 October 2024, the organiser received the money and charged the client another USD 2,200 for transportation across Ukraine and the purchase of fuel to refuel the car. He was detained and a custody with the right to be released on bail was chosen as a measure of restraint.
