Ukraine deserves to make 2025 year of peace, - Zelenskyy in European Parliament

On Tuesday, November 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in an extraordinary plenary session of the European Parliament dedicated to 1000 days since the beginning of the full-scale war.
This was reported by the Office of the President, Censor.NET reports.
In his address, Zelenskyy thanked the EU for its continued support, urged not to forget that the united strength of Europe is greater than Putin, and stressed that the West "can push Russia to a just peace."
"If we were able to prevent the destruction of the European way of life, then we can certainly push Russia to a just peace. It is peace that we seek most of all. Two years ago, we proposed a Formula for Peace, and I am grateful to the whole of Europe and every partner who supported it... And the only one who opposes it is the one who started this war, Russia. And we have to persuade Russia to make a just peace," the President said.
Separately, the head of state emphasized the need for tougher sanctions, especially against Russia's so-called "shadow fleet" that transports crude oil and oil products in violation of existing restrictions.
If anyone in Europe thinks that they can sell Ukraine or any other country, such as the Baltic States, the Balkans, Georgia or Moldova, to Moscow and get something in return, let them remember this simple truth: you cannot find calm in the waters during a storm. We must do everything to end this war - fairly and justly. Together. A thousand days of war is a huge challenge. A huge one. Ukraine deserves to make next year a year of peace," Zelenskyy emphasized.
Most of the leaders of the European Parliament's political groups who spoke at the meeting reaffirmed their strong support for Ukraine, calling on the EU leadership to provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons to win the war, including air defense systems, long-range missiles, tanks and drones.
"Any real peace must be based on the principle of 'nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine,'" added European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.
