No signs that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine - Pentagon

The United States currently sees no signs that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons.
This was stated by Deputy Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh, Censor.NET reports citing the EP.
Commenting on the change in Russia's nuclear doctrine, she noted that the United States was not surprised that Russia had decided to make such changes.
"This is something that they have been signalling that they intend to update over the past few weeks. It's the same irresponsible rhetoric that we've seen before and that we've seen frankly over the last two years," Singh explained.
The US will continue to monitor Russian nuclear rhetoric.
"But we have no indication that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons on the territory of Ukraine. And we don't see any changes that would need to be made to our own nuclear policy," the Pentagon spokesperson added.
Russia's nuclear doctrine
Earlier on Tuesday, it became known that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin had signed an updated nuclear doctrine, which expanded the conditions for the use of Russian nuclear weapons.
