Адміністрація Джо Байдена до кінця терміну своїх повноважень надасть Україні військову допомогу ще на 7 млрд доларів. На інфографіці – військова підтримка упродовж великої війни.

How was aid to Ukraine distributed?

During the full-scale invasion, the United States provided Ukraine with more than $60 billion in military aid. The first year of the great war was the peak of support: in 2022, Ukraine received weapons worth more than $20 billion. The largest aid packages were allocated in August ($5.3 billion) and September ($2.8 billion).

In 2023, the amount of aid reached more than $23 billion. Record amounts were announced in January ($5.5 billion) and September ($8.5 billion), when Ukraine received an additional Patriot system, expanded pilot training, and other important resources.

However, due to political uncertainty in Congress, the scale of assistance began to decline. Thus, in August 2023, the United States provided only $450 million, and in October - $350 million.

What is happening now?

In 2024, the United States tried to maintain its support for Ukraine even in the face of limited resources.

"In January and February 2024, Ukraine did not receive any new military assistance from the United States. In March, the White House managed to allocate $300 million worth of HIMARS missiles, artillery ammunition, and other weapons to Ukraine: the funds came from unforeseen savings from Pentagon contracts," Slovo i Dilo notes.

According to the publication, according to the Pentagon, the United States has already sent 83% of the promised ammunition, 67% of air defense equipment, and 60% of weapons for fire operations to Ukraine.

What will happen after Biden?

Joe Biden 's administration intends to use all remaining funds to support Ukraine as much as possible until the change of leadership in the White House. However, the situation with aid may change significantly after the arrival of Donald Trump, who has previously expressed doubts about large-scale support for Ukraine.

At the same time, Ukraine hopes for further cooperation with the United States, as military assistance plays a crucial role in the fight against Russian aggression.
