Number of crimes involving weapons increased 42 times compared to 2021, - Ministry of Internal Affairs

The number of crimes committed with weapons and ammunition has increased 42 times compared to 2021.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Tymchenko in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

"In 2021, 273 such crimes were registered, in 2022 the number of these crimes increased by more than 4.6 times - 1,267, in 2023 this figure was 11,186," he said.

According to Tymchenko, as of today, 11,489 such crimes have already been registered in the first half of 2024.

Earlier it was reported that the Diia app will have an option to obtain and renew weapons permits.
