Term of general military training in National Guard has been increased to 2 months, - Commander Pivnenko

The period of general military training for soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine has increased to two months, which is two weeks longer than in the Armed Forces.
This was announced by the commander of the National Guard, Brigadier General Oleksandr Pivnenko, in an interview with the Radio Charter YouTube channel, Censor.NET reports.
Since October 2024, the basic training program for NGU soldiers has been extended. It is 95% consistent with the Armed Forces' programs but lasts longer.
The training is divided into modules and covers various areas, including patriotic education, work with UAVs, electronic warfare, and cyber defense.
"Many topics are presented at an elementary level, but even the ability to work with a phone at the front is an important skill," the general said.
Pivnenko also said that in 2025, the National Academy of the National Guard plans to launch a new training program for military students in UAV systems. For four years, the cadets will be learning to operate all types of drones.
In addition, as of November 1, the duration of basic training for soldiers in the Armed Forces training centers has also been increased to 1.5 months. The updated program includes advanced firearms training, first aid practice and other additional courses.
