Two more girls returned from occupied territories

Повернення дітей з окупації

Two girls were returned from the occupied territories of Donetsk and Kherson regions.

This was announced by the head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak, Censor.NET reports.

"6-year-old Maria lived with her grandparents in a village in the occupied Donetsk region. After the death of her grandmother, the girl was left only with her grandfather. He was afraid that the occupation authorities would take his granddaughter away from him, realizing that the only way to save the child was to evacuate her to a safe area. Today, Maria is safe with her mother and younger brother," Yermak wrote.

He also said that the second girl, 14-year-old Veronika, was taken in by a foster family in the Kherson region. However, due to the Russian occupation of her village in 2022, the girl's life changed.

"Constant stress and fear had a negative impact on the child's health, and the lack of stable communication and electricity made it difficult for her to study. Today Veronika is already at home," said the head of the OP.
