Ukraine has called on NATO countries to decide on its invitation to join the Alliance.
This was reported by Reuters with reference to a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Censor.NET informs.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha appealed to his NATO colleagues to make a decision on inviting Ukraine to join the military bloc at a meeting next week.
"I urge you to approve the decision to invite Ukraine to join the Alliance as one of the outcomes of the NATO Foreign Ministers' meeting on December 3-4, 2024," the minister said in a letter.
The meeting of NATO foreign ministers will take place next week in Brussels.
Earlier, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly adopted a resolution calling on member states to facilitate Ukraine's membership in the Alliance as soon as possible. The document emphasizes the importance of increasing military, financial and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, strengthening sanctions against Russia and the DPRK, and providing Ukraine with all the necessary means for self-defense.
