Occupiers resort to tactical tricks while shelling northern direction - Siversk OTG

KAB in Sumy region

Russian troops, shelling the territory of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, are using mobile and long-range weapons, as well as FPV drones, trying to avoid suppression by return fire.

This was reported on TV by the spokesman for the Siversk operational and tactical group of troops, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vadym Mysnyk, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"The enemy maintains the dynamics of shelling in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. They are not increasing in number, but there are changes in the use of certain types of weapons. The enemy is mostly using 120- and 80-caliber mortars, which are more mobile and easier to hide at the border. We do not allow them to use larger caliber artillery. They also use weapons from a long distance - these are MLRS or an aviation component, mostly FPV drones," said Mysnyk.

According to him, the enemy is also resorting to various innovations in the use of UAVs, which are flying deep into the country over the territory controlled by the "Siversk" OTG.

"Every day we shoot down enemy attack drones coming from the Kursk and Bryansk regions. Thus, over the past day, 14 UAVs were shot down in the area of responsibility of our group. We are reinforcing our air defense component and have echeloned defense at different frontiers. However, the enemy is changing the routes of the attack and using various technical and tactical innovations to enter the territory of Ukraine," noted Mysnyk.

Earlier, the Siversk OTG noted that the enemy had reduced the use of anti-aircraft guns in the north.
