Russia has attacked Ukrainian power system again, significant power deficit remains - "Ukrenergo"

Situation in energy sector

The power system continues to recover from the massive missile and drone attack on 28 November. The need for economical electricity consumption remains throughout the day

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press centre of "Ukrenergo".

As a reminder, at night Russia carried out another drone attack on the Ukrainian power system. As a result of a hit to a power facility in Ternopil region, household consumers and critical infrastructure in the region were temporarily cut off from electricity.

"All consumers are currently supplied with power. Emergency restoration works are being carried out by the oblenergo's specialists," the statement said.

It is also noted that today, 3 December, as of 6:00 a.m., the level of electricity consumption was 3.3% higher than at the same time on the previous working day, Monday.

Yesterday, 2 December, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the morning. It was 6% higher than the maximum of the previous business day, on Friday, 29 November. The reason for this significant increase is that fewer restrictive measures were applied.

"Ukrenergo" also reminds that the Ukrainian power system is still recovering from eleven massive Russian attacks and there is a significant power deficit. Emergency repairs are ongoing at power facilities. Hourly power cuts for household consumers and power curtailment schedules for industry and business are currently being applied in all regions.

According to the company, imports will be carried out throughout the day from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova. The total volume is 8,343 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 837 MW in some hours.
