Tkachuk to be dismissed from National Land Forces Academy, - Ministry of Defence

Tkachuk's dismissal

Lieutenant General Pavlo Tkachuk will be dismissed due to serious violations of service conditions.

This was stated on Facebook by MP Yulia Yatsyk, Censor.NET reports.

The lieutenant general, who heads the Lviv National Land Forces Academy named after Petro Sahaidachnyi, will be dismissed in the near future. Ivan Havryliuk, First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, said during an hour of questions to the government that a decision had already been made to dismiss him, and that the materials for the order had been prepared based on the results of the investigation conducted by the SCC.

"As for Tkachuk, the decision has already been made. He will be fired as soon as possible," Havryliuk said.

What preceded it?

The cadets of the academy have repeatedly filed complaints about harassment, humiliation, bullying, as well as poor quality of food and lack of necessary medicines at the first aid post. In mid-March, the SCC received a collective complaint concerning the conditions for the release of cadets who demanded that their relatives or spouses come to pick them up for the weekend. As noted by MP Yulia Yatsyk, this situation is absurd when adult officers are forced to depend on their parents for permission to go on holiday.

These complaints have led to an inspection of the academy, and if violations are confirmed, measures will be taken in accordance with the law.
