Ukraine to receive $50 billion of frozen Russian assets in 2025 – Shmyhal

Ukraine will receive $50 billion of frozen Russian assets in 2025.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"As long as the legal procedure for creating a compensation mechanism continues, as long as we are working on the confiscation of Russian frozen assets, we will start receiving the first $50 billion next year," Shmyhal said during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, which was broadcast live on YouTube by People's Deputy Oleksii Honcharenko (European Solidarity faction).
These funds will be part of international efforts to compensate for the damage caused by Russian aggression.
As a reminder, a few weeks ago, at a briefing, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Ukraine would receive $50 billion from the United States and the European Union, which will be obtained from frozen Russian assets.
