Ukraine managed to return 1,029 children from Russia - Lubinets
Ukraine and its international partners managed to return 1029 Ukrainian children from Russia.
According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, this was reported on television by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
"A large team of Ukraine, together with international partners, managed to return 1029 Ukrainian children within the framework of Bring Back UA. This is as of today," said the Ombudsman.
He said that the main mediator in the return of Ukrainian children is Qatar.
Lubinets also emphasized that the main problem is verification, as Russia has not provided information about Ukrainian children and is not providing it.
"We are using all levers to obtain information about the whereabouts of a Ukrainian child, restore their documents, and then convince or provide information to our partners. They communicate with the Russian side. And then we are working out the logistical routes of how we return our children," the Commissioner added.
