We talked about frozen conflict with Trump - Zelenskyy

Zelenskyy and Trump talked about freezing war

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that at a meeting with Donald Trump in Paris, they talked about the frozen conflict.

The head of state said this at the beginning of talks with German chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

According to the President, it is very important to communicate with the American side on an ongoing basis and it is important to develop future steps together with the Europeans.

"When we talk about the frozen conflict, if it is between us, we ( Trump and I - Ed.) talked about it. I said that we want the end of the war more than anyone else in the world, and of course, diplomatically, the end of the war will bring more lives to be saved, and we want that," Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, he said what he emphasized in Paris during his meeting with French President Macron and Trump.

"First of all, you will see that Putin does not want this war to end. Therefore, he must be forced. It can only be forced if Ukraine is strong. Ukraine is strong before any diplomacy - it is a strong army on the battlefield, it is packages with weapons, etc. These are long-range systems, of course, ATACMS, Taurus, Storm Shadow and Scalp - we need all of this very much," the president summarized.

In addition, according to him, Ukraine needs security guarantees: "We cannot be in NATO now, but we can be invited to NATO."

Zelenskyy noted that he intends to persuade current US President Joe Biden to agree to such an invitation.
