Losses of parties in war in Ukraine amount to more than million people, - Rutte

Rutte on losses of parties in war in Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Putin is trying to wipe Ukraine off the map, and that since February 2022, casualties in the war on both sides have exceeded one million people.

According to Censor.NET, citing European Pravda, Rutte said this in his speech in Brussels on Thursday.

"Every week, more than 10,000 (people) are killed and wounded on all sides in Ukraine. More than a million casualties since February 2022. Putin is trying to wipe Ukraine off the map," he stressed.

At the same time, Rutte noted that Russia's losses reached 700,000 people.

"The situation at the front is changing slowly and at a very high cost to the Russians. They have already lost 700,000 people (dead)and wounded. This month is a record month for Russian losses," the NATO Secretary General added.

He noted that Putin's aggression is far from a new pattern, but NATO allies have been unresponsive for too long.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had lost 43,000 soldiers since the start of the full-scale war.
