Russia wants to take control of Moldova’s parliament in 2025, - Musteata, director of intelligence service

During the 2025 elections in Moldova, Russia will try to gain control of the country's parliament.
This was stated by the Director of the Information and Security Service of Moldova Alexandru Musteata at a hearing in parliament, Censor.NET reports citing the NewsMaker portal.
He presented a report on Russia's interference in the presidential election and the 2024 constitutional referendum at the plenary session of the Moldovan parliament.
According to him, Moscow will try to implement the same strategy in 2025 to gain control of the Moldovan parliament.
"This strategy is based on political and electoral corruption, disinformation and manipulation, as well as street rallies and riots," Musteata said.
He clarified that Russia used a criminal network linked to fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor.
Earlier, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry handed Russian Ambassador to Chisinau Oleg Ozerov a note of protest over Russian interference in the elections and two Russian UAVs whose wreckage was found in the Kaushan and Rishkan districts.
