The European Union has expressed its support for ending the war on the basis of Zelenskyy's "Peace Formula" and the basic provisions of the UN Charter, while respecting Ukraine's territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

This is stated in the conclusions of the Council of Ministers for General Affairs on EU enlargement concerning the Western Balkans, Turkey, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia. The document is published on the website of the European Council, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"The Council of the EU reiterates its strong condemnation of Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine, which is a flagrant violation of the UN Charter, and reaffirms its continued support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, as well as its right to self-defense," the document says.

European officials reaffirmed their commitment to restoring a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine, based on the principles of the UN Charter, as well as in accordance with the key principles and objectives of the Ukrainian "Peace Formula".

"No initiative on Ukraine can be taken without Ukraine. The EU Council reaffirms its unwavering commitment to provide continued support for Ukraine and its people for as long as necessary and as intensively as required, in line with the EU-Ukraine Joint Security Commitment signed in June 2024," the EU Council of Ministers for General Affairs concluded.
