Europe expects to be involved in Ukraine negotiations after Trump’s arrival, - Italian Ambassador Formosa
Ukraine's European allies expect that if Donald Trump initiates any "negotiation process" on Ukraine after his return to the White House, they will also be involved in it.
This was stated by Italian Ambassador to Ukraine Carlo Formosa in a commentary to the ANSA agency, Yevropeiska Pravda reports, Censor.NET informs.
Formosa said that no one wants peace more than Ukraine, which suffers daily from the consequences of a full-scale Russian invasion.
"Therefore, based on this assumption, there is hope on the part of the Ukrainian population and leadership that with the beginning of Trump's presidency, thanks to his determination, the dynamics of negotiations can actually be launched," the diplomat said.
At the same time, he added that it remains to be seen "what will come of the new approach."
"We are now in the process of determining what that might be, which naturally also involves all allies, including Europe, in terms of what the final solution might be," Formosa said.
Earlier, US President-elect Donald Trump said he was working hard to end Russia's war against Ukraine and had already made "a little progress."
