US fighters detect four Russian aircraft in Alaska’s air defense identification zone

On Tuesday, December 17, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) detected and tracked four Russian military aircraft operating in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to a statement by NORAD.
It is noted that the Russian military aircraft were in international airspace and did not enter the airspace of the United States or Canada.
"Such Russian activity in the ADIZ in Alaska occurs regularly and is not considered a threat," the statement said.
NORAD assured that thanks to a multi-tiered network of satellites, ground and airborne radars and fighter jets, it is ready to "employ a range of response options to protect North America."
As a reminder, last week, NATO fighter jets performing an air patrol mission in the Baltic region flew seven times to identify and escort Russian aircraft that violated flight rules.
