Zelenskyy on lowering mobilization age: Not enough weapons, not enough people. VIDEO

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has commented on the possibility of lowering the mobilisation age in Ukraine.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

"Regarding age. Please tell me, if a person is standing in front of you without a weapon, what difference does it make if he is 20 years old or 30? There is no difference. That is, our partners pay attention to the physical capabilities of a particular soldier. And we pay attention to the fact that we have "naked" brigades. I just don't want to repeat it," Zelenskyy said at a press conference in Brussels.

Zelenskyy noted that there are strong brigades in Ukraine and those that are not equipped, especially with weapons. The President called it "not very fair" that 14 brigades were agreed with partners a year ago to train, but only two are currently equipped.

"When we talked about training 14 brigades, at least 12 brigades abroad agreed a year ago. It was supposed to start with the US and our European colleagues, with a clear table of where each of our brigades trains. This is very important. Not individuals, but a team. It trains in full: with equipment, weapons, and its commanders, so that it is one team," the President explained.

He noted that this affects the brigade's abilities and morale at the front.

"And when we agreed on this, and today we have one brigade that we trained in France, and one brigade that is currently being trained in Germany (by the way, trained by the United States). And if we have two brigades from this block, we are talking about weapons, not people," Zelenskyy said.

According to him, "there are not enough weapons, not enough people".

"Of course, there are always not enough people. Of course, the commanders on the battlefield also want to, but it is very important to man the brigades so that they are there and defend the state," Zelenskyy added.
