UOC-MP archpriest praised Putin and waited for occupation of Vinnytsia region: SSU sentences him to 5 years in prison
The rector of the church of the Vinnytsia Diocese of the UOC-MP, who justified Russian aggression against Ukraine, was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
This was reported by the SSU press service, Censor.NET reports.
Thus, during his sermons and communication with the faithful, the archpriest praised Putin and heroized Russian groups trying to occupy our country.
At the same time, the cleric expressed hope for the occupation of Vinnytsia region and other regions of central Ukraine.
The SSU documented the archpriest's crimes and in August of this year notified him of suspicion.
The examinations initiated by the SSU confirmed the facts of the church rector's information and subversive activities in favor of the Russian Federation.
The court found the priest guilty under Part 2 and Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition of the lawfulness, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants) and sentenced him to 5 years in prison.
