Number of combat engagements in frontline increased to 164, fierce fighting continues in Pokrovsk direction - General Staff
Since the beginning of the day, the total number of combat engagements along the entire frontline has increased to 164. The occupiers continue to use aviation, in particular, GABs, and carry out attacks in all directions of the east and south of our country.
This is stated in the report of the General Staff on the situation at the front as of 16 hours on December 23, Censor.NET reports.
Russian strikes on the territory of Ukraine
The occupiers used artillery and aircraft near the settlements of Bachivsk, Velyka Pysarivka, Luhivka, Oleksandrivka in Sumy region.
The situation in the Kharkiv region
Three combat engagements took place in the Kharkiv direction today. Our troops repelled one Russian attack in the area of Vovchansk, two more combat engagements are still ongoing.
Our troops repelled five invaders' attacks near Kindrashivka, Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Lozova and Bohuslavka in the Kupiansk direction, and seven more engagements are still ongoing.
The situation in the East
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 17 times in the areas of Hrekivka, Novoiehorivka, Zelenyi Hai, Nova Kruhliakivka, Tverdokhlibove, Nadiia, Novoserhiivka, Terny and Ivanivka, six combat engagements are currently ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, in the area of Bilohorivka and Hryhorivka, our defenders repelled eight enemy attacks, five combat engagements are currently ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy stormed Ukrainian positions seven times today near Stupochky, Chasiv Yar and Predtechyne, and two more engagements are still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our troops 13 times in the areas of Dyliivka, Dachne, Bila Hora, Shcherbynivka and Toretsk, six combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, in the areas of Myroliubivka, Dachanske, Novyi Trud, Novotroitske, Zelene, Novoielizavetivka, Novoolenivka, Novopustynka and Uspenivka, the enemy has attacked 21 times since the beginning of the day, 11 attacks have been repelled, and fierce fighting is ongoing.
Seven enemy attacks have already been repelled by our defenders in the areas of Kurakhove, Petropavlivka, Sontsivka, Stari Terny and Andriivka in the Kurakhove direction, 11 firefights are still ongoing. At the same time, the enemy conducted air strikes near Andriivka, dropping two guided bombs.
The situation in the South
In the Vremivka direction, seven of the eighteen attacks launched by the enemy near Novodarivka, Dachne, Kostiantynopolske, Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv, Rozdolne, Novyi Komar and Novosilka continue. In addition, the enemy dropped nine guided aerial bombs in the vicinity of Temyrivka and Kostiantynopil.
In the area of Bilohiria in the Huliaipole direction, our defenders repelled one enemy attack.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy tried four times without success to drive our defenders from their positions.
According to the General Staff, the enemy did not conduct any active operations in the Prydniprovske direction.
According to available information, the Russians fired 237 times at the territory of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, including 24 times from multiple launch rocket systems.
