Enemy suffers significant losses in Pokrovsk sector, but continues attacks, - officer of 59th SMB Tsehotskyi

Ukrainian forces stop waves of enemy attacks near Pokrovsk

Russian occupiers continue active attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, storming Ukrainian positions almost continuously.

This was reported by Serhii Tsehotskyi, an officer of the 59th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk, on "Suspilne News" TV channel, Censor.NET informs.

According to him, the enemy suffers heavy losses, trying to attack mainly with infantry. Most attacks were recorded in the south and southwest of Pokrovsk.

"We understand what they want. But they cannot attack Pokrovsk head-on, so now we can see the enemy's intentions - they have started to circle Pokrovsk, trying to surround or pass by, which they also fail to do," the officer noted.

Tsekhotskyi spoke about the active use of civilian transport by the Russian military, such as motorbikes, buggies and cars, as the movement of military equipment in the combat zone is restricted for them due to the high risk of being hit.

"They have a ban, literally a ban, in the Russian army to move in the combat zone on military vehicles. It is for transporting the personnel, ammunition and so on. That's why they use civilian vehicles for this purpose," Tsekhotskyi said.

As previously reported, on Monday, 23 December, the number of combat engagements on the frontline increased to 164, with fierce fighting taking place in Pokrovsk sector.
