Bulgaria extends support for Ukrainian refugees until 2025

The interim government of Bulgaria has decided to extend the state support program for the accommodation of Ukrainians with temporary protection until March 4, 2025.

This is reported by The Sofia Globe, citing data from the government information service, Censor.NET reports.

This program, which provides accommodation for refugees in Bulgaria, has already been extended 13 times since its launch. The previous decision was valid until December 31, 2024.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Bulgaria has accepted 3,398,551 Ukrainian citizens. Currently, 60,864 Ukrainians remain in the country, of whom 197,580 have been granted temporary protection. Under the state support scheme, 5,961 people have been accommodated.

This summer, the interim government of Bulgaria extended the state support scheme for the accommodation of Ukrainians who received temporary protection while fleeing the full-scale war unleashed by Russia until the end of 2024.
