Criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the death of a Ukrainian teenager taken by the occupiers from the Kherson region.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, Censor.NET reports.

"On December 24, the media published information about the suicide of a Ukrainian teenager, a pupil of a family-type home in Tokarivka village, Kherson region, who was illegally transferred to the territory of the Russian Federation," the statement said.

It is noted that in this regard, criminal proceedings have been initiated on the fact of committing a war crime that caused the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office will be carried out by the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Earlier, Censor.NET reported that 18-year-old Oleksandr Yakushchenko, who was taken from Ukraine to Russia by Russian invaders during the occupation of the Kherson region, committed suicide. In Russia, he lived in a foster family in the Krasnodar Territory.
