Members of Public Anti-Corruption Council under MoD are being elected today: you can vote online

Ukrainians elect members of Defence Ministry’s anti-corruption council online

Today, on 26 December, elections to the Public Anti-Corruption Council under the Ministry of Defence are taking place from 9:00 to 21:00.

This was reported by Censor.NET.

It should be noted that the elected council will be able to monitor the activities of the Ministry of Defence - procurement, appointments, corruption risks - for 2 years in a row, and report suspicious processes to the public.

The Defence Anti-Corruption Action Council was established after the corruption scandal with UAH17 eggs. In its first year of operation, the civil public anti-corruption council contributed to the process:

  • returning non-lethal procurement to Prozorro, which resulted in savings of UAH 8 billion,
  • accelerating the launch of the State Logistics Operator,
  • Establishment of supervisory boards of DPAs and SLOs and
  • prevented the merger of the two agencies, which could have weakened both and slowed down procurement.

This time, Censor.NET journalist Tetiana Nikolaienko, veteran and civic activist Yurii Hudymenko, and head of the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO) Olena Trehub are running for the council.

As noted, this week Yurii Hudymenko announced the creation of a coalition of 15 candidates - veterans, volunteers, journalists and experienced public figures.
