Since the beginning of the day, January 1, 2025, 101 combat engagements have taken place at the front. Our defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the line and destroying the plans of the Russians.

At the same time, as noted, the occupiers continue to focus their efforts on the Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, Vremivka directions and in the Kursk region.
Strikes on the territory of Ukraine
The border towns and villages of our country continue to suffer from Russian artillery shelling. Today, the following localities were affected: Tymonovychi, Yanzhulivka, Karpovychi, Zaliznyi Mist, Mykolaivka in Chernihiv region; Tymofiivka in Sumy region.
The situation in the Kharkiv region
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy has made three attempts to advance to our positions in the areas of Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove and Nova Kruhliakivka since the beginning of the day.
The situation in the East
According to the General Staff, the aggressor has also increased the number of attacks to six in the Lyman direction. They attacked near Novoserhiivka, Tverdokhlibove, Kopanky, Makiivka, and Ivanivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, our defenders repelled nine invaders' attacks in the area of Chasiv Yar, Stupochky and Predtechyne. One firefight is still ongoing.
It is also noted that in the Toretsk direction, the enemy tried to advance five times in the area of Toretsk and in the direction of Shcherbynivka. The battle is currently ongoing.
"The enemy's activity is still ongoing in the Pokrovsk direction. Seventeen times today there were combat engagements of varying intensity. Enemy attacks were repelled in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Novyi Trud, Solone, Kotlyn, Pishchane, Pokrovsk, Novooleksiivka and Novovasylivka. Seven more combat engagements are currently underway.
Fierce fighting took place in the Kurakhove direction. Eleven combat engagements took place near Ukrainka, Petropavlivka and Kurakhove during the day, three hostile attacks are ongoing," the General Staff added.
The situation in the South
In the Vremivka direction, the aggressor attacked the positions of our defenders 12 times near Dachne, Kostiantynopil, Yantarne, Novosilka, Rozlyv and Novyi Komar, five of the combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, one firefight took place in the area of Novoandriivka since the beginning of the day, the enemy was not successful.
Today, in the Prydniprovske direction, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled one enemy attempt to push our defenders from their positions.
In the Kharkiv, Huliaipole and Siversk directions, the enemy has not conducted any active operations since the beginning of the day.
The situation in the Kursk region
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled 31 invaders' attacks, two clashes are still ongoing. In addition, the enemy launched one missile and nine air strikes, using seven missiles and eleven guided bombs, and fired 198 artillery shells at the positions of our troops and settlements.
There were no significant changes in the situation in other areas.
Ukrainian troops are depleting the enemy along the entire front line and in the rear.
