On the night of December 31, 2024, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck at the Yartsevskaya oil storage facility in the Smolensk region of the Russian Federation. Powerful explosions and fire were recorded at the facility.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Censor.NET informs.

"Last night, units of the Special Operations Forces, in cooperation with the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the Defense Forces, struck at the Yartsevskaya oil depot in the Smolensk region of the Russian Federation. Powerful explosions and fire were recorded at the facility, and there is heavy smoke," the statement said.

According to available information, tanks with oil products caught fire. It is known that the base was used, among other things, to supply the Russian occupation army.

Additional information on the results of combat operations is being clarified.

"The destruction of important enemy targets will continue until the Russian Federation stops its armed aggression against Ukraine," the command added.

Earlier it was reported that on the night of December 31, 2024, the Smolensk region of the Russian Federation was attacked by drones, as a result of the attack, an oil depot was on fire.
