Aftermath of UAV attack on Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery in Rostov region of Russia: at least one tank burned down. SATELLITE IMAGES

At least one fuel tank burned down at the Novoshakhtinsk refinery in Rostov Region, which was attacked by Ukrainian Defence Forces drones on 19 December.

According to Censor.NET, this is evidenced by satellite images published by the Russian service of Radio Liberty.

It is noted that the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery is the largest refinery in southern Russia and the only one in the Rostov region.

The AVT-2.5-2 unit with a capacity of 7.14 thousand tonnes per day, which provides 50% of the plant's capacity, was hit. After the attack, it had to be shut down.

In addition, there was a fire at a tank with oil products, and a second primary processing unit with the same capacity of 7,14 thousand tonnes per day was shut down.

On the morning of December 19, Rostov Region authorities said the region was attacked by more than three dozen drones and three missiles. A fire broke out at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery.

Later, the General Staff confirmed the damage to the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery in Rostov Region.

This refinery was already attacked by drones in June 2024.
