Air defense shot down 60 enemy UAVs out of 90, another 26 were lost in location, - Air Force
Since 21:00 on January 2, Russian invaders have been attacking Ukraine with Shahed UAVs and imitators of various types. The launches of 93 drones from Bryansk, Millerovo, and Orel were recorded.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"As of 09.00, 60 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones have been confirmed downed in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, and Dnipro regions.
Due to the active counteraction of the Defense Forces, 26 enemy imitator drones were lost locally (without negative consequences), and one was lost in the air," the statement said.
As a result of the Russian drone attack, several strike UAVs hit private enterprises and apartment buildings in Donetsk and Chernihiv regions. The downed drones also caused damage in the Kyiv region: private houses and cars were damaged in several districts. Unfortunately, there is a dead and injured person.
