38% of Ukrainians are ready to make territorial concessions for quick peace - KIIS poll

war, afu

In December 2024, 38% of Ukrainians believed that Ukraine could give up some of its territories to achieve peace and preserve its independence as soon as possible. Concessions to Russia are opposed by 51% of respondents.

According to Censor.NET, this is evidenced by the results of a KIIS survey.

"While the situation did not actually change between May and early October 2024, between early October and December, there was an increase from 32% to 38% in the share of those who were generally ready for certain territorial concessions," the sociologists said.

"However, despite all the difficult circumstances, as of December, 51% of Ukrainians opposed territorial concessions (58% in early October)," the report said.

As a reminder, the head of Slovakia's defence ministry, Robert Kaliniak, said that "the reality on the ground indicates that Ukraine will have to give up some of its territories".
